What is the One Piece experience at Universal Studios Japan?
It's a seasonal event called ONE PIECE PREMIER SUMMER, not a permanent area. In 2026 it runs July 30 – November 19 (USJ's 25th anniversary year) and includes:
- ONE PIECE PREMIER SHOW 2026: an 80-minute live stunt show at the WaterWorld lagoon with pyrotechnics, sea battles and meet-and-greets with Luffy and the crew. This year Hancock returns for the first time in 12 years, with Smoker and Lucci. One evening show a day (6:45 pm, doors 6:15 pm), with 84 performances in total and some days dark
- Sanji's Pirate Restaurant at Lombard's Landing: a themed dinner show where Sanji and the cooks serve you. About 85 minutes per seating; ¥7,000 adults, ¥2,600 kids (4–11)
- ONE PIECE × Story Ride: a One Piece story on Hollywood Dream – The Ride, about a trip to Elbaf. Check the official site, because the announcement wording on availability was unclear
- Limited One Piece food and merchandise around the park
What to expect on the day (quick checklist)
- Rides: no permanent One Piece ride. In season there's the ONE PIECE × Story Ride on Hollywood Dream – The Ride
- Show: the ONE PIECE PREMIER SHOW at WaterWorld in the evening, the headline event
- Characters: meet-and-greets with Luffy and the crew are part of the show
- Food: Sanji's Pirate Restaurant (book ahead), plus limited One Piece snacks and drinks in the park
- Merch: event-only goods at park shops. For everyday official merch, the Mugiwara Stores in Umeda and Abeno are 15–30 minutes away
- Season: summer to autumn only (Jul 30 – Nov 19 in 2026)
Is there a permanent One Piece ride at USJ?
No. One Piece content is seasonal only, usually from summer to autumn. Outside the event you'll find no One Piece show, restaurant or ride. Check our USJ One Piece page for next season's dates.
Is Universal Studios Japan worth visiting for One Piece fans?
Yes, if your dates fall inside the event. The Premier Show is the biggest live One Piece production anywhere, and Sanji's restaurant is a one-of-a-kind fan experience. Tips:
- Plan the day around 6:45 pm. The show is the last thing you do, so explore Super Nintendo World or Harry Potter earlier
- Book show and restaurant tickets the day they open. They're sold separately on USJ's online store and Lawson Ticket, and good dates sell out
- Outside the event, it's a normal theme-park day. Go to the Mugiwara Store Umeda instead for your One Piece fix
Tickets: what do I need?
- A Studio Pass (park entry). It's required and not included in the show price. Check USJ ticket deals on Klook
- A ONE PIECE PREMIER SHOW ticket: adults (12+) from ¥3,000, kids from ¥2,000
- Optional: a Sanji's Pirate Restaurant seating (¥7,000 / ¥2,600)
Getting there
USJ is at Universal City Station on the JR Yumesaki Line, about 15 minutes from JR Osaka Station. Combine it with the Mugiwara Stores in Umeda and Abeno and the ONE PIECE Shinkansen, which leaves from Shin-Osaka.
